Does anyone have a pic of a Weber downdraft carb installed on a 75+ MGB? I am trying to figure out where to run vacuum / water lines etc and a good pic would be worth the proverbial!
The car is about 100 feet away and it is dark and raining and my garaqge light isn't working, so a further check will wait til morning, OK? But I am sure the hose arching over to the manifold in the lower right picture is the brake boost vacuum line.
Ah, c'mon Jeff. My carb never gives me any trouble, I get good (for an MG B) gas mileage and I accelerate as well as most. Of course I don't have the fun of oiling the pots and constant tweaking like I used to have on my TD. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/lol.gif
Simon, I just couldn't let it it go. Had to go out and check that hose. Yes, it is the vacuum hose to the booster. It goes down and has an ell fitting into the booster.
Good luck and if you need more pix, just ask. PM is OK, too.
Thanks Guinn and Stewart. Now that the car fires, I want to tidy up some of the loose ends left over from a sloppy PO installation. I do have another question - why is the heater hose re-routed under the carb instead of over the valve cover?? Is it meant to attach to something under there?
