Crank some more.
Catches, sputters then runs poorly, gradually getting better as it warms up.

Fuel injection
Turn key.
Crank for two seconds.
Car runs perfectly.

Ahh, life is good.

WOT WOT?? Don't drive your Triumph in SNOW??? Bloody absurd!
 
If your carbs and ignition are properly tuned winter should not be a problem. Fuel injection is the greatest. My wife drove a GT6 for 10 years 190,000miles and never missed a beat. Wished they had the add on fuel injection they have available now. The main problem in winter was hoping the snow did not get too deep. As you drove along the bonnet would fill with snow and stop the engine. Then you had to scrap the stuff out from the fans and radiator. If they only had the electronics to add back then, might still have the RugRat.

I really am all freaked out at the changes
already. You guys are right.

Dang, I've already stretched the project by adding
the overdrive unit. It sits in my entryway of my
house on the tiled floor, the pampered new puppy it
is.

It was that darned: Is an overdrive tranny all that(?)
thread. Forum family made it sound so fun and so
good that I had to stretch. Got it! I'm excited!
I'll post another thread to the general population about
my prospective start date, after the most recent
commitment from the machine shop.
