I recently upgraded my '71 GT's alternator to an 85 Amp Bosch unit (see this thread).
Trouble was, the Saturn unit commonly referred to (see here ) is a US-only car, hence I was unable to find an exact bolt-on equivalent, even browsing through the Bosch catalogs with the local importer.
At some stage, I'd like to do an upgrade on my sister's 1970 GT, and for complete ease sake, would rather find a straight bolt-on (or as near to as I can get). So my question is:
What have those of you who have upgraded alternators in the UK, Europe or Australia/New Zealand (or anywhere else outside the US) used? I'm aware there's a 55-Amp Lucas unit which is a pretty straight bolt-on, but the importer/electrician said the unit was "utter junk".
