Weber DGV for a 1500?

Has anyone tried the Weber DGV carb kit Moss offers? Just curious about how well it works compared to the stock ZS.

I had one on my old Mitsu Colt ITC racer. It was just OK.
For your car, I think there are other options that are better.
I'd stick on a single SU carb (an HS4, if I am remebering correctly). This is nearly a bolt-on to your stock manifold and is a simple and easy carb to work with.
By the way, I often see the Webers and 1500 manifold for sale on eBay and at flea markets.....my sense is that they are not a "magic cure" that transforms the 1500.
On my racer, I am using an S&S carb with adjustable main jet, adjustable idle mix and adjustable accelerator pump. The S&S carb is normally used on Harleys. Very nice, simple carb, but requires a custom built adapter to the stock manifold. Also some manifold "hogging".
I'd swap the ZS for an SU on your street car.

It's cheaper and promises more power than the DVG.

IMHO, the real performance killer on the 1500 is the manifold. While I have heard several people report that they are getting better performance from the HS4 setup, the theorehtic max power you can get out of the stock manifold is @ 60hp. The advertised HP for the euro spec 1500 was 67hp.

Would you consider an EFI setup? I am having a lot of fun with mine.

Well, I've got a couple of HS4s that I bought, thinking I was going to try the dual carb swap, but got scared off from that when I saw it would involve cutting the body to fit it. Guess I could try the single HS4 too. Rob, did you have to do anyting special for the throttle linkage?

I wasn't really in pursuit of better performance, just something that wasn't as temperamental or as rich running. Better performance is good too though

i have a 32/36 webber on my 1500. it works ok, i will be going to the su's real soon. and will be selling the webber. but it has not biven me a bit of trouble.

I made a little bracket out of some scrap steel, but there is an off the shelf adapter for a single HS4 that goes between the carb and intake. I've seen the photos of it in my haynes SU manual but I have no idea where you can buy them.

It was an easy piece to make. Just need a vice, a hammer and a drill....

I have a Weber DGV on my 1500 but I also installed a pacesetter header. The difference is noticable and I have found the Weber quite reliable.
