hs2 & vac to dizzy - urgent - car apart in drivewy

I was about to change the front carb and I noticed that the carb on the car has a vacuum line running to the dizzy. The replacement carb does not have the port to hook the vacuum line to it. The rear carb does not have a port either. Shoul I not change the carb or can I leave the vacuum hose plugged or unplugged. The reason I am changing the carb is the front one does not have the big vacuum connection to the evapoartor/rclaim cannester on the front of timing chain coverbut the rear one does. They mis matched by the po.

You can run without it for awhile (although your gas mileage will be down). The vacuum advance from the dist should connect to a barb on the top of the intake manifold.

You need to check the model number on the distributor to see if it supposed to be ported or manifold vacuum. Ported vacuum means it is on the atmospheric side of the throttle butterfly, which is what your picture shows. Since someone has changed things around I wouldn’t rely on what the car had at the factory. Take a look here to see the dizzy model / vacuum source.

Chris I checked, The port is on the manifold side of the butterfly, I put the dizzy vac where the philips screw was. Just finished adjusting and balancing the best I can. Think Im a bit rich, but MORE PULL NOW WOHHHOOOOOOO. RUNS FINE !!!
