Im looking for some basic info. I recently acquired a 73 MGB gt that has been sitting (luckily in a garage) since 1997.
I have her home now and want to get started.
brake lines feel dead- no pedal- master shows almost no fluid, so I need to go through that. Should I break the lines loose at the master and at each wheel and blow them out? Then rebuild each wheel cylinder? Fill the master back up, attempt to bleed the air out and???
The clutch feels stiff as a board- ideas there?
Fuel pump, fuel lines and carbs???
Pull the carbs and rebuild or?
I will install new plugs (anything in particular work better than others?)
Do I need to check or change points?
This would seem simple, but the dual batteries and the "negative earth" warning spook me- how does this differ from a modern car and how to go about charging?
Any other helpful ideas on prep work to see if she fires would be appreciated.
Also- I would love to clean up the engine bay and dump all the emissions nonsense- not required in MA for a car of this age, so any tips on that would be great.
Thanks in advance for the assistance-
