What do you think - good thing I pulled them?

I noticed the TR4a (yes Randy, I'm nudging her forward rather than giving up) M/C where leaking a bit so I pulled them. Look at all the crystallized brake fluid that crumbled out of the seals by the time I was done removing them;

Keep the Nissan M/C just to be different - ha!

Looks like a bit of flushing and caliper/cylinder rebuilding is in order.

Better now than after the brakes go to the floor on a panic stop.

Main reason I went to dot5...even my newly rebuilt units leaked a tad and got tired of the paint issue etc...

Yeah, that looks like it needs a little work! So that's a Nissan clutch m/c? Do the mounts line up well, or were they persuaded a bit?

It actually lines up surprisingly well. There were a TON of washers in how they bolted it down, but if you didn't know better you'd say it was supposed to fit.

I'm debating switching to DOT5 - seems like now is the time. Think I'll have any issues with my existing brake cylinders on the wheels?

I got a good deal on Dot 5 on ebay (gallon of mil spec dupont dot 5 sealed tin) and after much discussion here just over bled the system with the dot 5. I did not clean out the Castrol GMT dot 4 or do any flushing just used the dot 5 to flush.
All seals had been exposed to the dot 4 for some time.
No issues so far. no leaks, solid braking.
Done over a year ago, maybe more.
I did rebleed one time just to remove any residual that may have shaken loose but didn't notice anything.
I had rebuilt the masters, repainted everything in that area and then the resevoir began leaking...fluid down the pedals etc...so removed everything again and repaint etc..that was the motivation...peeling paint and the system design that sends leaking fluid into the cockpit.
