How is the VIN plate attached?

I have the VIN plate (actually car number plate) for my 59 B/E in an envelope. I received it this way when I bought it.
The car is disassembled and primed, I'll paint it soon.

How do I reattach the VIN plate- rivets or screws? What type?

Also, there is a missing plate from the left hand door pillar (the mounting holes are there). What does this plate look like and can I get a repro?

Mine were on with screws. I used stainless going back on I,m sure thats not stock.

I looked closer at my pictures and I think the screws are stock.

I lived in Tulsa in the 70s. Is there still a cruse on Peoria?

Cruisers congregate at the Sonic Drive-in on Peoria on Saturdays during the summer.
There is now a large cruise-in every Tuesday at Fuddruckers, 25-50 cars typically show up.
I wasn't her in the 70s to compare, but it's a great town.

Bill W thanks for the photos of your ID plates. I noticed how close all the numbers were...chassis 46703, body 46003 (right jamb) and something 45814 (left jamb), indicating most likely original #s. I noted the left jamb # had the AN spaced from the <span style="font-weight: bold"> </span> 5 <span style="font-weight: bold"> </span> 45814 which was run together. As I plan in the future to "invent" a number to go on this left jamb tag, is that how it is normally done? I was initially confused as the number looked to high, until I realized the 5 went with the AN.
I bought tags from AH Spares.
I am not one to be a nitpicker, well maybe I am, but I believe the screws were originally painted body color, just like the tags when they came from the factory.

I think you’re correct. The tags were painted so the screws should have been painted. This car sat in my garage for 30 years and one day I decided it was time and in 4 days it was in Tupperware containers. I didn’t even think of taking pictures until after I had the floors and pillars done. I never planed on a concourse car when I put it back together. I will have to look through the leftovers and see if I can find some painted screws. I did keep the Iris Blue on the tags just for a reminder.
