My friend Chris owns
~THIS MOKE~.
He puts it inside his race-car transporter (with his vintage formula cars) and uses it as a pit-buggy at vintage races. It's fully licensed, so his wife can drive it into town if they are in a place where she wants to explore.
The 1275 is a drop-in to an older Moke, but newer transmissions use CV joints on the inner axle ends. Older Minis (and the Moke in question) uses Hooke joints on the inner axles ends, so you may have to swap axles if you use a newer trans.
The 1275 will fit the 850 trans if needed.
If, by chance, you get a newer "Austin America" engine and trans (this is the US version of Austin 1300), you may have to swap the final drive gears, since these cars are geared for 12" tires instead of 10". (or leave it as is and do wicked burnouts but have a top speed of 50 MPH).
Mokes seem to rust even more than regular Minis...the side box-frames are often filled with rust.
By the way, I rode in a 1275 Innocenti Mini tonight (a pal stopped by with it).
