It may be beautiful to me but it really is ugly!
In reality it is a "Datsun 210 transmission test rig" and it tests both 4 and 5 speed transmission and it works BEAUTIFULLY!
I can drive it into the driveway, swap to another transmission and be driving again in under 30 minutes.
So now when I sell a transmission it will have been tested under "real-world" conditions!
(Rick- your "Dogleg" is perfect and Scott your 5-speed is GREAT!)

If you look closer you will find an amazing number of "interesting" features on this thin but I got it cheap and it was pretty easy to convert to a 210 engine.

As some of you have probably figured it is the remains of a Datsun 620 pickup (front and top were mashed). The body was removed and the bentup front cut off and a VW bettle front suspension put on. This HAD a J-15 engine which will be going into my MGA (if I ever finish it). The E & J Datsun engines were almost EXACT copies of the "B" block and it will be hard to tell it from the original MGA engine (the Datsun 5-speed behind it will be hard to ID too).
I picked it up a couple of years ago since it was advertised as a Datsun 5-speed but it had a 4-speed at the time.

My daughter came home right after I took those pictures and asked "can I drive it!!!". That is about the most enthusiastic comment that she has ever made about a car of mine! (and Yes- she did drive it around the block a few times after she figured out the clutch, she is 18 and drives that white Chevy with automatic in the background).
I did put in the other seat so I could monitor her clutch work.
