Old story, back in the 70's when I first met Don, his 55 Tr2 had spun a bearing. In those days
it was easier to find a spare running motor than parts to fix the old one. The # match motor was
set aside for "some day"
Thirty years later and the OE motor finally got her re-build. It had failed because of a casting fault
from the factory. An air bubble just under the surface of a rod jurnal had collapsed and shredded
the bearing. Don had always blamed himself for driving it too hard, wrongly as the truth was told.
Guess they never x rayed cranks in the good old days.
