That "wire" coming off it is actually a cable, yes? It's a vacuum actuator for cruise control. Definitely non-stock!

That would have been my guess as well... aftermarket cruise control from JCWhitney. Can you post a photo of the business end/round thingy.

Oh gesh, I saw not long ago a B with elec. windows. What a waste.

So electric windows are frowned upon? Why? If the roof is up, and the rain stops fora while, you cna drop the window until it starts up again.

I really don't see any logical reason to put power windows in an MGB. There are only two windows, and the crank handles are less than an arm span away from each other.

it's been so long since I sat in my B, I don't remember how far away the handles are. But, I think I've just become lazy.

MOSS actually offers a power window kit....I'd never want that in my B's....Even most of the modern cars I've had, have had issues with the power windows.

Common failure point on late model BMWs. A $.50 nylon clip self destructs inside the window regulator. You need to take the door apart to replace the entire regulator (the clip is not sold seperately, how convenient). Luckily my wife's X5 failed under warranty. I swear they engineered them to fail after about four years of usage to generate service work. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cryin.gif
