So the progress has been slow and boring. Searching for and collecting parts and cleaning up the old metal so I can install new floors. I did get the missing cross tube from a fine Spartan in Mi. Holding it in place shows the damage done by running the car without one. Its clear the the towers have moved in about 2-3 degrees, you can see where the tower is bent as there is distortion near the motor mount. I am sure once I get suspension apart I can press the towers out and weld in some support if needed. Any recommended remediation is appreciated. I also got some YOM plates getting me a step closer to being legal.

Was able to pick up a set of seats over the weekend.
Other than the obvious rip the bones are in great shape. Also got mint seat tracks

Those do look good, and the backseat as well.

I hope the CA DMV will let you use those plates...

Hi ML

I had a challenge fitting my shock tower cross tube (I know, probably not the correct name for this area) and I made a spreader to spread the area between the two shock towers and was able to cram the tube in there. Then, those BCF members that are more clever than I am reminded me that if you simply jack up the car (with engine installed, of course) and let the wheels hang down, the two towers tend to spread out and the cross tube will often fit just fine. You might try putting a jack under the front frame cross member (adjacent to the radiator) and jack the wheels off the ground. Then, see how the cross tube fits. Let us know if this helps. The spreader was a hassle and for me and should have been unnecessary.

Thanks Pat, thats quite the tool. I have some deformed metal in the towers that may necessitate some persuasion like that.

Hello Ml_engr

Is it an optical illusion or is the seat on the left in the photo wider than the one on the right?

Nice seats.

So after a brutal winter and a remodeling a rental condo I am finally as of last week back on the tr3 project. I started to clean up the flanges that will hold the floor pan and will a little work they can be saved. I did have to repair some rust in the inner sill and still have a little to repar where the bulkhead meets the pillar.

I had a little repair patch work near the bulkhead that went well. Was able to get the drivers floor trimmed and set in place. I am trying to figure out how to make a patch for the early style rear floor section. The PO hacked out everything so I have no reference. Been trying find a photo of how the panels should overlap. Any photos / direction would be appreciated.

Okay, I had to abandon photobucket and sell my soul to google. Hopefully links are working again. I have been able to make some progress on the floors, battery box and suspension.

Had some excavating around the drivers b-pillar. I was able to get to the inner sill and make the requisite repairs.

Got the driver side suspension broke down and have rebuilt and replaced just about everything.

Was able to separate the axles by building a tool, using instructions from this site. Came apart no problem.

The passenger b-pillar had some questionable repairs.

So I just cut it all out, inner sill was solid in this case
