I purchased some ignition and other parts for my car
from this guy named something or other Barnhill. They
arrived today all very nicely packed for the ocean voyage
in their MG boxes. A big wrench also came.

Can anyone help me with the install of the points and
condenser? I can't seem to figure out how to use the
wrench. Anyone know this Barnhill character?

Photo attached for reference.

Thanks in advance

A rookie

Dear Rookie,

A little advice about the tool that you're using. While it may be effective to adjust the points, it was originally designed for the ZS carb adjustments. Please try to keep that in mind in case you damage it setting your point gap.

And just because you got MG parts doesn't mean that you can use a certified Triumph wrench on them.

Wrench? I thought that was a hammer for tight spaces...

Tinster,
You are using the wrong wrench. The one you have is a tiny MG wrench. You need a proper Triumph wrench. See picture.

Actually you're all wrong. It's left handed!! Try switching grips. It's much easier that way.

I wondered where that wrench went....hehehehe

Now that you have THE hat, you'll be able to fix everything on that TR6; & if you wear it while driving, it'll not leave you stranded!!

I would bet the hat will soldier on long after the TR has given up the ghost. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif No offense to our TR brethren of course.
