......the car appears to have much cleaner lines. Thinking of getting rid of the fender mirrors which aren't really practical in terms of visibility and going with a mirror near the drivers side wind wing? Any thoughts?
I agree about the mirrors breaking up the long lins of the body, but they are nice to have on the street/highway if you want to pull out to pass without worrying about being overtaken by some American behemoth.
I was foolish enough to take my TR-2 out on the track a couple of times without mirrors and had no problems though.
I can only reflect on driving roughly 100 miles across Central Texas with no windshield. The reduction in frontal area certainly seemed to make my TR3A much quicker, especially acceleration at highway speeds. Worst hazard were approaching 18-wheelers. Their air streams seemed to vacuum the road surface of very mote of dust & fling them all into my face. Brooklands windscreens would’ve been most welcome, as would a leather balaclava. Blessed I was, it didn’t rain.
