Need help finding gear shift lever spring retainer, please -- HVDA install up-date.
Fellow Forum Members: My HVDA project is progressing slowly, but well. Ready to button up tranny install, but found a horribly worn, beyond use,
gear shift spring retainer.
This is for a 1974 TR6. The part is the domed shaped cap that goes directly down onto the spring that slides over the gear shift lever.
Current suppliers are not providing this part. It is described as N/A.
I post the following to further identify the needed part: https://www.mossmotors.com/Shop/ViewProducts.aspx?PlateIndexID=32768
The part number is: 848-170, "Key" item 5.
I believe I can buy this part from wayyyyy across the pond, but I am anxious to complete the HVDA installation. Please let me know if anyone
has a handle on this part.
Lastly, I did see a complete "gear shift unit" on Ebay for $109. Sounds like I am buying parts I don't need there.
If anyone can be of help, please let me know.
Dennis
