help identify a wire connection

I was fixing the throttle bushing and noticed a female/male connection is disconnected. This is about 12 inches right under the servo unit assembly(master cylinder) . The female side has 2 connection leads but it only has one wire. The other wire I am asssuming it is ground. I measured the voltage from this one wire lead to the ground is about 7.1v. The male side is attched to an odd shape part that has metallic hoses/pipes that go to the brakes(i think they going to the brakes, not 100% sure). I don't know what this connection is for and not able to tell which hole is positive or negative on the male side because the female is no loner fit into the male side for whatever reason.

I have checked mossmotor under brake system and was not able locate or identify this connection and part. Please help identify this connection, what the connection for and which side is positive on the female side(the end that attached to the metallic part that has hoses/pipes go to the brake.

Thanks.

Sounds like it might be the PDWA switch. Is this what it looks like?

if you ground the wire a light on the dash should come on too, thats if previous owners have not cut wires under the dash

much thanks.

I have been driving this car for over a month now and there is no sign of brake related fluid leaking. Is it safe to drive the car without having this connection? I am not even sure if there is a warning light in the dash or not. Will have ground the wire to see.

The 7.1 volts probably indicates the wires & dash lamp are good. The oil light will also go out when the PDWA wire is shorted to ground.

if you dont have any brake leaks you should be ok to drive and that PDWA device is a shuttle so if you loose front or rear brakes it shifts a plunger to one side and gives you warning lamp
