I usually turn my headlights on when I’m on a longer drive in the city and especially on the highway.
Following a question on the TR8 discussion list, I browsed the web to try to find a headlights 'ON' warning alarm, to prevent leaving the headlights on after turning the engine off, and I found this web site.
Headlights Left ON Reminder
I ordered one and received it on Monday and installed immediately. It is a very small unit, about 1/2" x 3/4" x 1/4", with 2 wires, one to the headlights 'ON' wire and the other to a 'switched' fuse or accessory.
I installed mine with one wire connected to the Blue wire on the Headlight switch and one wire on the Green power feed wire on the Flasher unit of the turn signal. This wire is connected to the switched circuit of the ignition key.
NOTE: my flasher unit is on the driver side directly behind the centre console so I can hear better when the turn signal is on, and now the headlight alarm is next to it.
Given the size of the buzzer, it gives a very good blast and works perfectly.
One less thing to think about while I drive to the MG 2011 Meet in Reno next week.
