$300 is more like the going price for a semi decent used steel bonnet.
Or that is the most I ever paid for one but it was real nice.
The $100 ones need a bit of work but I buy them too :wink:

I paid $350 about 6-7 years ago for a BE Bonnet I used on Bugsy my '68 Sprite. I paid too much for a bonnet that needed some metal reworking, reinforcements and replacements of bracing around the grille and welding in of new back rear repair panels. 6-7 years later, bonnet is on the car, front tilt bracket installed, and has has had lots of panel beating performed on it and looks great from 10'. I'm happy I changed the Sq Bodied Sprite over to a BE front end. It's been an interesting engineering challenge to get the front tilt bonnet mount to work and I'm happy with the end results. I'll own a BE some day but for now this works for me.
