TR4/4A TR4 Surrey Top?

So I'm looking at rebuilding my surrey top, but like most of my car, parts are missing. Can anyone provide pictures or directions for making the interior piece that fits on the side post? I'm not sure how this piece attaches to the top.

It's been nearly 3 decades since I sold my Surrey Top, but I do recall the piece you're talking about. (BTW the picture doesn't display)
On my top it was a flat piece of sheetmetal. If one of the members will trace theirs onto a piece of cardboard, you can easily make your own. I covered mine in vinyl matching the bespoke* headliner I had installed.

Can't see your pic, but are you talking about the side finishers? Some just came up on ebay over here:

which is probably zero help because somebody snatched them up.. I've also seen the rear chrome finisher for the center section come up I think that is pretty easy to get.

Those are the side panels I'm talking about. They look easy enough to make. Does any one know how they attach to the top frame? There are no mounting holes in my frame. Are they just glued?

On secound look at the ones on the e-bay auction, it looks as perhaps they are just fitted underneath the rubber window and door molding. Can anyone confirm this?

Hi Larry,

Those finisher panels are missing from my two-piece hard top, too.

I think they are simply vinyl-covered hardboard or fiberboard and slip under the "lip" in the casting at the rear, and are held in place at the front with some upholstery glue and by wrapping the vinyl over the ridge under the "fuzzy". TRF has material that's a close match to the original type used to line the hardtop's lift out panel, plus a strip glued directly to the frame under the rear window, and to cover those two finisher pieces. If you have original, white sun visors on your car, they appear to use the same material.

I'm basing my guesses on the tattered remains of the headliner, fuzzies and traces of glue still on the top and frame on my car.

They are made of thin steel. They are held in place by the rear window seal and door molding. I did not use any adhesive to hold them in place, they are secure. If you need a pattern, I can remove mine trace the pattern and mail them to you. Cut them a tad bid smaller because mine are covered. The material is the same as the other vinyl type material on the rest of the surrey frame and visors.

Peter and Larry, I will send the pattern tomorrow. Alan, if you would like a pattern, pm me with your address. Also, Alan is correct the leading edge was glued to the frame. I assume I did it because the fuzzy stuff has to be stretched quite wide at this point and does not grip as well. Been a while since I had redone this part. The fuzzy was not glued.
