Stomberg Needles?

I am about to rebuild my Stromberg carbs for my TR6. My engine is mostly stock, but I plan to bump the compression ratio up and add a good cam to the setup, and maybe someday a triple Stromberg intake. I was wondering if anybody had any experience with using non-stock needles in the carbs (or even if they exist). I know that in the SU world there are a ton profiles. It seems like the some should exist for the Strombergs. Anybody had experience or recommendations in this arena?

Hello A. Salnick,
there are many more S.U. needles available than Stromberg needles. I can't advise on which needle may work but you can make up a sleeve to use S.U. needles in a Stromberg.
All you now need is what needle?

There are richer needles available for Strombergs through Burlen Fuel Systems (UK). If you have fixed needles-pre '71 you may want to try B1AR. These should also be available through vintage Jaguar parts suppliers. In the later model TR6's with adjustable needles a B1AQ will give around 20 percent more fuel at wide throttle openings. I have stock Stomberg needles (B1AF) on my 9.5:1 CR engine with a warmed-over cam and they work fine.

I strongly suggest that you change the needles. I have
high compression pistons, a 2.8cc engine, 3 stombergs.
You may run the risk of having a mixture to lean, this can result in piston damage. If you are interested, let me know, and I will sent you the WEB address where you can find the needles you need.
