MGB MGB Fuel Injection

Hi all
Moss in Goleta C/A are now installing a fuel injection system on a freinds 80 MGB.Some testing to be done, but it will be on sale to the MG owners. I think the price is $1,500.I dont have anything to do with this..

That’s great to hear Glennyboy. I’ve been waiting for this kit for a long time now and Moss has been saying that they are close to releasing the kit.

As for the price? Sure it ain't cheap - but I kind figured the price would go up slightly from the early estimates back in winter of 03/04. I'd budgeted a little over $2000 (or as much as the wife won't notice) for the EFI kit and cleaning things up under the bonnet. Already have an alloy head & some beefed up valve train components.

I’m also thinking about a 270 cam to compliment the set up. But thats' deffently a budget buster. But again what the wife don't know won't hurt me. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/angel.gif

The idea (translated as "challenge") is to gain as much performance as possible & still stay within the emissions envelope. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

i think i've briefly read about that once before. It certianly sounds like an interesting project to give a try. However, since it is a DIY controlly it carries no "Smog" certificates, which translates into the builder/installer/car owner having to deal with a Kalifornia state Emissions "Referee" (or any other state with stringent laws on fuel delivery systems and emissions). That's the down side to it, at least for us California residents.

On the upside, if it's possible to make a 'B produce 120HP with natural induction, street cam, and headers using the kit and still pass 'tread mill' tests, then it amy well be worth the hassel of dealing with extra state policies.
