Fuel line size and fittings

installed new aftermarket fuel tank in 1961 BT7. The fuel line going through the backwall of the trunk to the tank is too short. I will need to bend up a new fuel line from the pump to the tank. How can I go about specing out the right fuel line and fittings?

I have a rubber hose that connects the fuel tank fitting to the steel fuel line.

There are a few elements of my car that aren't original, the fuel line being one of them...

I used 3/8" stainless steel tubing and associated Parker (or SwageLok) ss compression fittings.

I'm pretty sure that the original run was 5/16" tube, in mild steel with soldered brass fittings.

Hi, Fuel tank outlet, if original, should be 1/4" BSPPT (British Standard Parallel Pipe Thread). It needs a 60 degree cone seating with a nut holding it in place. There are adapters available to use an AN fitting. Pegasus Racing has a pretty good overview (www.pegasusautoracing.com) . Good luck, Bob
