I recently purchased, repaired, painted and added new rubber to a set of BE wheels. In the process I learned about the various versions, and thought I would pass it along to you'all (CA spelling).
About half of the wheels I purchased were bent and could be repaired, but would be expensive. Also, I have been told that to check for cracks betwwen the holes; more on that later.
The wheel shown below, backside view, shows the center section riveted to the outer rim. This was the first version. I am told they are not too strong and may leak air at the rivets.
