I just found out that it is a physicians parking permit from St Josephs Hospital in Stockton California. Third owner back bought the car from a fellow in Birmingham Alabama, who worked in the medical profession as he does and resided and worked at the University Hospital in Birmingham Al for 20 years. He brought the car from California where he worked at St. Josephs prior to that. So we can assume it's a California car and possibly originated there. PJ

Paul,
I also worked at University Hospital as well as Children's Hospital (next door) for a number of years in the distant past...do you have the owners name and could you share?

I did a clerkship at St Josephs Hospital in Stockton in 1979. I don't remember any British cars in the parking lot, but then I did not have two pennies to rub together back then so dreaming about cars was not on the agenda. That was a long time ago.

Just found out that there was an MG dealer in Stockton back in the 50s, Crown Motor Co. 1847 Wilson Way. Was the car purchased there, it's now in the works hoping to find out, as the wife is communicating with someone in Stockton for any historical information. PJ
