Hi all,
I bought a Robbins top in 2008, and it has sat in the box since then. I opened it last weekend, and it “looks” great. No discoloration, windows perfectly clear, etc.
However, I understand the vinyl shrinks over time…
Should I try to install, or is it a hopeless cause?
I realize the lost expense - $450 for a replacement from Robbins. Normally a frugal guy like me tries to use old before replacing. However, there is considerable labor involved, as well as bits that are “one time use”: the various snaps and lift the dot pieces, and given the top is glued in places, there is considerable re-work.
