Just wanted to say Hi!
I have a 1957 100-6 Longbridge car. It's kind of a diamond in the ruff for me.
It's a future project, that I had to buy before I had my next child, because I knew the wife & I could not justify the purchase after the fact.

I am 35 years of age & grew up around English cars even though I have a 67 Mustang w/ a 550Hp 429 Cobra Jet engine. I have learned an appreciation for English cars, My Dad had a 61 & 66 Healey.
This car is going to be a tribute to my Mom & Dad, beacause of the freedom these cars represented to them in the sixties, Sorry to sound hoakie but its a long story. These cars are part of my life, my Dad sold his 66 to put me through college.

Anyway enough of the sentimental blubber, I have many questions for you guys & will show you many pictures of my 57 Healey. Please be patient w/ my ignorance as I am a novice to British cars.

Thanks in advance,
Ashley

Welcome to the forum from a fellow Gen-Xer! Can't wait to see pictures. This forum is amazing. Get ready to spend some time staring at the screen.

That being said, do keep in mind the "Search" feature. Also, make sure that when you do search, adjust the "date range." The default is one week, I usually do two years at first, then eight if I don't find it. If that doesn't do it, post away. The talent on here is second to none.

Also, if you haven't done so already, join a local Healey Club. I did here in St. Louis, and what I've learned from them is incredible.

Again, welcome!

Thanks, Shane. I've been a lurker for about ayear, I had problems registering & gave up until now. Just curious have you replaced the sills in your Healey?
My car is in fantastic shape except the sills, the chassis looks great.
I have had alot of experience w/ welding & rust repair because of my experience w/ rustangs.

Thanks In advance,
Ashley

I actually haven't needed to do any body repair on my car. The PO's really took care of the car, we got lucky when we found it. If I remember correctly, the sills are a somewhat common rust spot. Click here for a good thread on the subject.

Hi, and welcome to the Forum from another Longbridge 100-6 owner. There's a few of us on here, which makes the research factor a lot more manageable!

Ashley,

Welcome to BCF, I'm a bit of a lurker myself but there is a lot of help here.

My father had a Longbridge 100-6, my brother has it now. I opted for the 67 BJ8 which I am now just finishng up. When you replace the rockers watch out for the new panels you buy. I had to shorten mine. Its not hard but does take time to install.
