I know some of the guys in King Rat Racing and I'm sure they posted that (with the text) because they were ticked at him. I would be too.
It really makes him look like a first-class jackass.
I sometimes volunteer for our driver's committee (when we review on-track infractions). In 99% of the cases, the drivers involved are great and they understand when the committee has to make a tough decision. In vintage, this would have been an easy decision. Considering all the consectutive and intentional infractions, the 13/13 rule would have banished him for 13 months.
Way funny Scott. I haven't had it that bad yet. I did have Timing and Scoring at PIR assign my qualifying lap times to another car and driver. The funny thing about that was the car/driver with my times hadn't even arrived at the event yet. Go figure.
I wasc a rookie at PIR in 1980,did driving school.
Took the Wife & friends Girlfriend around the track after-
wards. Was told by the Steward of the Meet - "The track's -
closed".To which I replied - "No it's not...if you drive-
around the barriers, you can drive it".
Later,I realized how stupid that remark was!
Nial is correct... you pull that stunt in vintage and your on the trailer. Back in my SCCA days here in the SF Region, they would black flag you before you made the start finish on the first lap.
Some of my best drives have been from the back of the grid. After all, racing is what its all about.
Below is a link to a race I ran last year... started dead last and is a race I will always remember.
PS... Onwards and sideways... off to Sears Point tomorrow first thing. CSRG Charity Challenge. Hopefully my camera will work this weekend! See ya at the track jack!
That guy was getting so nuts I am surprised he did not simply run over the worker!
I started the feature from the back at one event this summer because I did not finish the qualifying race and so started behind a lot of guys that I was "faster than". But that gave me lots of opportunities to advance by passing them which was fun--and isn't that what this is all about?
A friendly reminder - be careful what links you click on here. If a link is posted by someone you don't know, or the URL looks fishy, DON'T CLICK. Spammers sometimes post links that lead to sites that can infect your computer, so be mindful what you click.
