good day everyone! raining in mn again.my 69 midget is running great.now if we could only get the sun to shine!i want to replace the exhaust donut any tricks on getting thee pipe loose from the manifold without learning a whole new vocabulary. i bought new studs and nuts along with my donut.so i should be ready for any misfortune.thank you for your input in advance and i know the misses will for sure. Getting the nuts loose without breaking the studs is not easy. Use a good penetrating oil and use a small wire brush to help knock off and scaling rust. You can also use a propane(carefull with penetrants) torch to heat the nuts which will help them to break loose. If you get them broke free, you might need to loosen, re-tighten, and loosen again many times to aid the nut to make it off the stud safely. Your worse case senario is the stud breaks and you have to remove the manifold to extract the rest of the stud.

Experience is a great teacher. If the nuts you just bought are not brass take them back or throw them away! Brass is the only way to go if you ever expect to take them off again a few years down the road. They won't help you this time but sure will the next. Bob
