Austin Healey Spares ?

Hi Guys,
I hope everyone is doing well. I was wondering if any of you have ever bought parts from A.H. Spares and what did you think of the quality of their parts ? I've been looking at their web site and it seems their prices are pretty fair. I'm not looking to bash a vendor. If their are as good as they say,I'm thinking of giving them a try.Thanks for your help.

I have used them quite a bit. Their rubber goods are extremely high quality and they FIT. Shipping can be a bit high but the bottom line is usually pretty good. Some electric relays and switches are very well priced. I have no complaints with them.

I have bought many parts from them over the years. I have been well pleased with the quality and even including shipping you usually save money. They are very nice to deal with and prompt.

currently I got two big spare parts parcels. All parts are in the same quality as there competitors. But cheaper....I dont know the reason.
I will order the next time also in UK because the tax is for me (EU) also included.
Some minor complain(scratch) was eliminated in a 3 minutes telephone call.

For me top.

Hey Bobby R,
I am a big fan of AH Spares ! Their chrome is great and you can opt for the
premium chrome on some pieces for a reasonable additional amount. Moss
gets a lot of their parts from them. I simply did a comparison of Moss
versus AH Spares, factored in an exchange rate of 1.63 dollars/pound and
added 15 % for freight and still saved a fair amount of money. Moss is still
a great source too but on the expensive parts and pieces, do the comparison
and chances are AH Spares will be less.

I visited them when we were in the UK a few months ago. Very friendly folks and they had all the bits I wanted for my Frogeye which I bought then. They had samples of the new Frogeye grills there as well as other chrome bits for the big Healeys and I was impressed with their quality. Next year I am going there and buying a grill! Eric

Hello all,

I forget something. bighealeysource talk about chrome parts.
I bought the premium version spears for the front fender .
They are excellent!
Also I get the AH 3000 badge only as normal version offered
for the boot and front grill. They are also very good. If you look under a magnifier you can see the red color can be better applied.So what... But the part and the crome is excellent (for I believe 10 pounds!)
My local rechrome shop is out of range and no competitor...

My last parcel was ordered on monday evening and I received the parts monday
in the following week! :thumbsup: All parts are very well covered in the package.

I had to write a letter, wait for a reply to tell me the price, then send a postal order (sort of like a bank cheque, from the Post Office)and the parts were shipped by sea freight! Oh, the joys of the modern world. Now I order over the internet and receive parts within days.
I am very happy with AH Spares service and prices, (except recently when they did not have stock of ignition contact breakers for a BN1).

You've been buying parts from AH Spares almost as long as I have. Yes, the personally handwritten letters from Fred Drapers written in those blue airmail envelopes(can't remember exactly what they were called), sent in return with prices, etc.
Times certainly have changed except that I still have the same Healey and it still needs the same parts.

This may seem strange as a source, but I buy most of my parts at Denis Welch. The sell all AH parts (not just the ones they produce) and I usually get an even better deal than at AH Spares.
Also CW has a very good deal with a shipping company - their shipping is vary cheap.

I have purchased all the parts for my full restoration in 2004-05 at AH Spares and have been very happy with them. If parts did not work properly (OD relay etc) they promptly sent me new parts. Friendly service and user-friendly webshop.
