Hi all,
I'm very new to this forum and happy to be here!
I recently inherited my late father's 1976 TR6. It has sat in the same spot (covered and out of the rain, but outside in Louisiana humidity) for over 10 years. I am hoping to begin working on it but not exactly sure where to begin. I am making a list of what I need to do but please let me know if I am mistaken or if there are other must do's in order to get it started. I will worry about making it move after I can get it reliably starting.
I am thinking I must take off the tank and drastically clean it or replace it.
Change the oil and oil filter.
Bought a new battery today.
Distributor cap and spark plugs actually look in great condition but tomorrow will be taking the plugs out and cleaning them.
Take off the carbs and give them a cleaning.
In terms of getting the car to start is there anything I am missing? I am pretty much an absolute beginner so any and all advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
