I installed new wildwood calipers on my TR6 on the front and put the 7/8 inch wheel cylinders on the rear, went for a test drive this morning and first off there was a on off scraping noise, so back to the house, pulled the drums and first thing was I put the springs on the wrong side of the brake shoes, Now I know why the put then springs behind the shoes. fixed that, got to the RR wheel, the brake shoes were soaked with brake fluid and it appears the wheel cylinder is leaking, First question is how likely the wheel cylinder was defective, next thought, when I first put the new wheel cylinders on and I blead the brakes that same wheel cylinder was leaking at the metal hard line going in to the cylinder, past experiences, with the steel fittings, when I have snugged them up they seal off well, On this wheel cylinder I had to really tighten it up to get it to stop leaking, I wonder if I tightened it up enough to distort the bore of the cylinder to put a bulge in the cylinder and thats why its leaking, since I dont have another one I didnt want to pull the cylinder off and find out,
guess I will order a new cylinder and a new hard brake line, I think I have some brake shoes. I hate brake!
