Grease for Motor Bearings

I got a spare blower motor for the TR250 from a TR6, like the one I have in there now, it squeeks/squeals a little on start up and from time to time. I have got the motor out, but not apart yet. Two questions, any trick to get the clip that holds the fan motor on, and the other, assuming I get the clip off and everything is in order except lubrication, any thoughts on what lube/grease to use on the bearings? Wheel bearing grease? White Lithium? Thanks, Greg

I would use a hi tack grease like Lucas Red Grease. It has high temp resistance, will stay where you need it, and the grease will also help as a barrier to help dirt out of the area where it's needed most.
This grease is also great for u-joints and wheel bearings. I have no association with this product, but have sold similar greases in the past

Felling like the worlds biggest idiot here, took the heater motor apart, everything looked good, cleaned, grease the bearings, reassembled, ran great. Put the fan on to see how much air it would move. Moved a lot on the high speed wire, great, lets give it one more test, didn't have the motor held well enough, generated a lot of torque on start up, slipped off the workbench, broke a fan blade. Crap. I do have another (the squeaky one in the car) so I can cannibalize, but still very frustrating. Wanted to have it back together and all ready to go in when I took the old one out.
