This appeared in my driveway last night.
A friend of mine who lives nearby runs a repair shop that specializes in Brit cars. He was sorting out this one, so he drove it over for a test ride. He's a subcontractor, so this car will be sold soon. Who ever gets it will sure get a great car. He did another one recentley (just as nice) and there are two other perfect looking examples for sale near our house in Morristown. I guess these things are in demand.
It sure is a contrast to my tired-looking Race'cort or even my 2nd gen Miata. For some reason, I like the newer BJ Healeys with the top up. I prefer the BN1 and BN2s top down, so maybe it's the extra seats.
Anyway, this is my favorite colour for these cars, although they look great in most colours.
As a matter of personal taste, I might prefer more skinny (period-correct) tires and rims, but that is a minor point....still a great looking car.
And, despite the outdated design, the engine sounds better than almost any other car.
Just sitting in it brings me back to a friend's similiar-car in the late '60s. (Who says ~You Can't Go Home~ ? )
For a variety or reasons (starting with cost), I am never likely to own one of these cars, but they are the bee's knees when it comes to styling.
