TR4/4A Assembling the interior - dash support and radio plate screw holes don't match up

ok - now to start to put thniogs back together. I took out the dash support and radio plate to repaint them. Now, as I reassemble them the radio plate needs to be raised about 1/2 inch for the holes to match up with the dash support. WTF ??????? It all fit together before!

Am I supposed to raise the dash? Would it have fallen this much by having the support out?

Wellsir, it is what it is -- if it fit before it must fit again. Just be sure the assembly is as before. Here are some pics of my TR4 if they are of any use:

Bob, You would not be the first to stick a bottle jack under the dash to get things to line up. Use a wood block with a towel on top, it just helps from making a mark. If it doesn't move right away, look for something blocking it and stop.

Someone accidentally leaning on the dash while the support was out maybe?

Well, I got it fixed. What I did was connect the radio plate to the dash support, unbolt the two bolts on each end of the dash that connect it to the body, then put the bracket and support under the dash at an angle then pull it up forcing the dash upwards as well.
The screw holes where the radio bracket connect to the dash were slightly off, but I found a great use for the leaded hammer that I use on the knock off hubs, slight hammer blow to the side and it is now all together!
