One of my neighbors is the original owner of a 1964 BJ8. He is not a member of the forum in spite of my attempts to get him to join. He asked me a question today that made me wonder if what I do to measure the fluid in the tranny is correct or not. So, I am asking this group of knowledgable forum members. When checking for a full level of transmission fluid, do you put the dip stick totally back in it's housing or do you just put it in the opening until it just rests on the opening of the housing to check the level? I have been fully inserting the dip stick, but maybe I am wrong.
Thanks,
Charlie
