petrol and vacuum line support

Despite our earnest attempt to document the detalis when we took the car to bits, seven years is a long time. If you look at the attached photo you will see two types of "thingy" that Triumph utilised to support the petrol and vacuum lines where they cross over at the front of the engine. Considering the point in production TS58276LO, which was assembled on 1 September 1959, which one of these "thingies" is correct for my car. I have not been able to find a listing or drawing of this part in the detailed parts catalog.

Many thanks,

Frank

The type of support held in your fingers,is one type I have seen used before as a replacement.Possibly a newer style? The u shaped one is the type I have one my cars which I would consider as original. As for show judging it would probably depend on the intelligence of the judge, which is usually considered a political gray area as reflected from previous experience. Both work fine and are better than the lines flopping around till they give out.

Doc, John: Thanks! I prefer the one on the right since it has separate groves for the fuel and vacuum lines. See attached photo - Don E has a third type which has been on his 3A since 1959.

Frank,

Don E's is what i remember being on my 59 also. The one on the right in your original post picture is what I have on a TR4A.

Frank --
The one in your fingers is the one I found on '59 TR3 #TS51006L. There's no way to be sure of it's "originality," however. It might be a replacement.

MY post 60000 came with the one pictured, held by the hand. I would have to guess that the one in the Moss catalog was on pre 60000 cars, since that seems to be a major change over point.

Geo, just found another of Don's photos.
I think this answers your question but I think the one on the right in the original photo does a better job.
