Austin 1100 countryman

I bought a Corgi model in grey last year at a swap meet.

I didn't know those existed either. It would probably be a great small family car.

Would certainly be unique! (I didn't realize there was even ever a Corgi version) A few months ago there was the MG version of the coupe - similar shape for not a lot of money.

Sigh. So many cars, so little time and money, so much desire to remain married.

About 10 years ago when a friend of mine decided to start a family he decided to buy and fix up a TR-2000 estate. He swore it would only take him 6 months to get the car in a condition where he wanted to drive it. The car is still in pieces today. Family's are great but when raising young children there is not much time for restoration/rebuild projects. I hope he does get the 2000 back on the road. That is also a very unique car.

when he " ... decided to start a family he decided to buy and fix up a TR-2000 estate."

hmm - seems like a impossibility to me.

That is very cool. I think it needs more than "a little love" but everything's restorable if you're determined enough. I love cars like this: I'm still halfheartedly negotiating with a guy down the street about his father's 1958 Hillman Husky estate. Picture the Countryman, but 10 years older and in somewhat better shape.

In the 90's we were in Bermuda for a few weeks - got to know a fellow who owned one as his daily. He piled my whole family & luggage in to take us to the airport. (Other than doctors, in Bermuda, by law you can only have one car - and the speed limit is 40km (25mph) on basically the whole island - and cars are licensed by size)

I agree sounds like an Urban Myth
