adding aluminum to alloy boot lid?

I have an alloy/aluminum boot lid for my vintage racing AH 100LeMans, it needs to have some aluminum "added" to the two bottom corners. How should I go about doing this? TIG welding, then filling it to fit? Ideas, thoughts, etc??
