TR2/3/3A TR3B Engine rebuild

I'm soooo close to finishing a rebuild on a 62 TR3B engine but...just realized that a cam shaft bearing kit does not include the front bearing. the front bearing is listed separate, and, at $100.00 per Moss catalog. What a surprise. Why would they list this separate? I was also puzzled about the oil galley plugs below the cam was not available. Moss did help by suggesting 7/8" nsf thread bolt cut to 1/2" will work. Is the front bearing reusable if tolerances are met? Any thoughts? gripes?

Yes, the front bearing is typically reuseable, it is completely different than the other three replaceable bearings.

If you are talking about those aluminum plugs in the front and back of the galley, Roadster has them. I think they come in a stick of three that you cut to separate, pretty cheap item too. Or just use set plugs from a place like McMaster Carr.

What peace of mind? Given all the problems with parts quality these days, I'd much rather put my faith in a "known good" part (assuming it still measures within spec).

Agree, use the old (in spec and working) part. Take a night our with your wife.
