my car starts from a push switch since the ignition switch is broken ......
first i turn on the key...
tick tick tick goes the
fuel pump....
i press the button, it starts.

well, now when i press the button,
all i get is a tick from the relay.

so, i changed the solinoid.....
didnt work..
so, i changed the relay....
didnt work...

i tried jumping the switch....
just the tick....

it DOES start if i push it or
if i jump to the starter...

the switch is on new wire..
battery to relay...
any ideas.......zimmy

Zimmy:
Be sure to check your battery terminals and cables for a possible loose connection and or corrosion.
I have seen cables corrode underneath the rubber insulation to the point of rendering the cable incapable of delivering a full load of amperage to the solonoid or starter. Check the ground cable for corrosion as well.
The next thing is to check your battery make sure it is fully charged.
Good battery, good cables, new solonoid, new relay, the only thing left is the starter itself and you say that it will spin with a jump so it must be ok.

How about just a plain old bad battery connection?

Is the solenoid grounded? It has to be for it to work.
Or you might have a bad solenoid. If it's new and came in a green Lucas (India) box, suspect it being bad.
A generic Ford solenoid will work too.

new battery and cables,,,,,,

with motor running at 1500 rpm
i get almost 14 volts at ALL the
electrical locations...coil, solinoid,
alt, and the battery.....z

That sounds about right for a good charging system. Sounds like the points in you solenoid are not good or are not making or maybe you have a dead spot on the starter commutator, the spridget starters usually have a square deal that sticks out so you can turn it a little if needed.

Always park at the top of a hill.!?!? Back thirty yrs ago I had a buddy who did it for a long time. If you don't have any hills, You Are In Trouble I was laughing about this post and told my wife about it and who it was, she told me its getting closer to thirtyfive yrs ago than thirty, time does fly.

Aye, for sure.

If you have the old-style solenoid, it is a fairly simple task to take it apart and fix it (at least once it is apart you can diagnose why it failed - it will either be fixable or need replacing anyway!!)

its under warranty, already got a new one......
im thinking it might not be grounded good...
ill get back with u later today.......z

i forgot the solinoid has to be bolted down to be grounded...works fine now....i was late for work
when i was tryin new parts at Oreillys...ooops....

im pretty sure the old solinoid was bad though.......z
