Will be picking up a 1980 TR8 that has been stored in a garage since 1996. Odo shows 90k. Owner parked it there after having problems with the infamous Strombergs.
Car was repainted sometime before he bought it in '96. Color change from green to red. Looks like a decent job; big thing is they did the engine bay & trunk, looks good depite a few shadows of green on inner fender. The car has virtually no rust, includes 5 alloys, tool kit and jack as well as owners & service manual, plus a shop manual.
Brakes are frozen and clutch also seems to be as you can't even push it down 1/2". Fuel smells like kerosene, so we didn't try and start it. With frozen brakes we couldn't rock it
in gear as it was against the wall.
I think I got a good deal on it & am hoping none of these issues are major.
The fun shall start next week when I get her flatted back to my garage to share the space with my 82 911SC.
Will keep you posted and look forward to the forum.
