Looking for spark plug socket.

I have had a lot of spark plug sockets over the last 40+ years but the one I really liked the best got lost when someone "borrowed" it.
It was made by the Champion spark plug company. Instead of a rubber insert it had a magnet inside to hold the plug.
Does anybody know where I might get another? Thanks!

Snap on makes them in both popular sizes. I agree, the magnets are great. And, when you buy from snap on, they are warrentied for life.

That's a good idea,a warranty against borrowing.Don't think the company would survive long with that!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

No, but you used to be able to get a sticker from them that said something like"I earn my living with Snap On tools, don't ask to borrow them" Probably won't work on friends, relatives, or neighbors though...

I have not only both of the Snap-On magnetic sockets, but nearly the exact aforementioned sticker as well!

Heh! Yeah, the Snap-On guy gave me that sticker 15 years ago. It's been on my tool box lid ever since. One of only two stickers on the box. I actually needed it back then because people were constantly trying to take tools from my box. I had to lock it up when I went to the bathroom. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

I have always found it interesting that people that take pride in being independant and paying their own way think nothing of treating my tools like their own (or less).
In 94 I left the last shop where I actually used tools. When I loaded them for the final trip home it took a small pickup and my old station wagon. The owner actually had tears in his eyes. The other employees just kept looking at the empty space in the shop and the loads of tools. My thought was, finally they had some small idea of what was there and now was leaving.

I priced some Snap On tools a few years back- they're even more expensive on this side of the pond... I just did a comparison and found the UK price for a 1/2" drive set was only £1366 ~ $2500 /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Precious metals is right.... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/yesnod.gif

I don't buy Snap-On any more. The Craftsman Professional Series is quite good these days at a fraction the price. I have a drawer of Snap-On ratchets, a few socket sets and a couple combo wrench sets. Probably $1K worth of tools. They are really nice, but not quadruple-the-price-nice. Thankfully I bought them 10-15 years ago when they were cheaper.

Craftsman has worked for me since I was 16, first box was a Christmas present from my folks. Course I have added and added and added, big big roll around now and it is kinda full.

I've got a lot of Craftsman tools that I brought over when I moved here twenty+ years ago, and most were well used even then... still seem to work OK.... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Haven't really bought much since, except for air tools, welding and bodywork, and I don't think Craftsman do much in those lines that would run on UK electrics....

Ack. Over the years I've accumulated many tools of different brands. Craftsman has been right "up there" with any of the others in quality/usefulness. Only reason I have a lot of Snappy tools is the truck came to me! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Three Snap-On roll cabs, only one has the top box. I suspect like most others who've wrenched for a living, I've the price of a nice Porsche in tools. I like their plug sockets best out of all I've used.
