Re: Julian- your latest up-date??

It's cloudy, dark, 22 degrees and starting to snow here.

I think that I'll take the AWD Taurus for a spin after we get 5 or 6 inches.

Hi Dale,

I've been refitting everything under the dash, and then the dash itself. I waited quite a while before my heater unit was ready to insert, and everything followed quickly after I'd attached that. I have a new glovebox, and repainted gauge rims, cleaned gauges, and all electrical contacts cleaned and treated. The dashboard I refinished a while back: stained Red Mahogany and then about six coats of clear gloss polyurethane. I redid the lettering on the dash (BRAKE S and HAZARD) with a Brother label maker!

The glovebox lock is new, from a set I bought from Moss that included new door locks and trunk lock. I wish it was the correct black.

Other than the dash, I have had the pedal box out for a new coat of paint, refurbed the brake master, put in a new clutch master, and am waiting for good weather to start bleeding them /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif I put a few coats of Royal Blue Rustoleum on the hood ... it was tatty ... as a temporary fix until I decide whether or not to try painting the whole car myself, or have it done at one of these "one day" places. I've POR15'ed the floor pans, and repaired some holes in the far edges of same with fibreglass and POR15.

Right now it's pissing down with rain. I'm charging my battery because I suspect it has sat too long and wont turn the engine over anymore. I'm sure there's other stuf. I keep a log of everything I'm doing here:

"La Belge Bloketastic"

All the best!

Re: Julian- your latest up-date??

Looking mighty good, Julian. I'm thinking
you will shortly be Vrooming down the road!!

That's a whole ton of accomplishments in a short period
of time. I'm slower than coal tar pitch in January when
it comes to auto restoration issues.

Good on ya, mate!!

dale

PS: Amos cranked right up today; on the first twist of
the ignition key. Nice spin about local roads but too
short a time.

Re: Julian- your latest up-date??

Julian: She is looking very nice. I see you have
the new dash part with the knobs in place. Looks
great.

Tinster: Nice to read you on line. Slower than
coal tar pitch in January??? NOT.
You always impressed me....not to mention, you
documented and shared so much with appropriate
verbiage and pictures.

Hope all remains well with you and the Mrs., and
keep on keeping on, Julian.
