It's been too long since I have posted here. I have been going back to school to finish my engineering degree. I still have my yellow midget and a white one that is in mid restore and will be that way for some time yet. I hope you all are well.
Kim

Kim,
Thanks for checking in! I hope school is going well...when do you plan to finish?
Rut

Hey there! Good to know all is well. I haven't been in school in a long time, but my wife went back to get her doctorate and it was a long three years for her. She was happy to have it finished and get her life back. We'll be expecting you to get back on that other Midget restoration project as soon as you finish that degree. ;)

It's looking like 2017. I am only really able to take one 8 week course at a time. I must be crazy. I just turned 50 but I am tired of doing engineers work and not getting the pay. Plus I could go elsewhere. Plenty of manufacturing controls experience, I just need to cap it off. Been working at least 60 hour weeks at the same time leaves not much midget time.
I cannot believe that it has been 4 years since we all met at road America.

Hi Kim. Long time since we've seen you around. I do know Ugly Bug suffered a casualty while parked in Trevor's Garage when a shelf collapsed and added some new and really Ugly curves to the rear end of the car. Bugsy my '68 Sprite is gone and Bugsy II my '59 BE is on jack stands about to go upside down. Another '59 Parts Car that I chased for 4 years is about to go to a new home after I got a better bonnet, seats, and dash out of it. Life is good. Welcome back.

Hey Trevor, how is the ugly bug?

Welcome back Kim! Good to hear from you
Best of luck with the school, you will be happy when it is finally finished
BillM

Kim,
2017 is just around the corner...
Rut

Good to see you back, Kim!

I watched a good friend get his bachelors while working full time and raising 3 little boys. I earned a whole new respect for those who go back to school later in life while juggling everything else.

I'm back with another Bugeye, this time a full restoration on a RHD Bugeye named Penny.

Welcome back! And hang in there with school! It will be well worth it!

I teach in a college engineering dept and we have a surprising number of older, night students.
All of us at our school (including the younger students), have great respect for someone who returns to school at a later age.

Welcome back Kim! My wife is close to finishing her nurse practitioner degree so I can sympathize with you guys. Takes a lot of dedication to go back to school!!

Kim...good to here from you. My sentiments are all those mentioned above. I congratulate you on your education. I was lucky that I did it while I was young with no commitments and the GI bill.

We need another excuse for Elk Hart lake!

Kurt.

Good deal. I don't think you will regret getting the sheepskin.
Maybe see you around at a drive this summer. Lov me some 276 et al.
We are still trying to keep a Sprite and a MGB running.
Good to hear you.

Grundy, I look forward to a meet up. You are great to be around. We always have fun. We need to meet at the boiled peanut wagon on 11.

I am going with an online university. So far that has not been too bad except the instructor has a couple days to reply to a question. Not quite the same as just raising your hand. The hardest class so far was calculus II but it made sense and I can see applications for it. I am not sure if I could have said that when I was younger. I am going half time so it takes more time than I first thought. I am getting into the more advanced electronics now. I have had a lot of it before in the 80s when I learned electronics to work on weather radar etc.
I see you got air under that front wheel. Glad to see you still racing.

Sometimes this forum is slow. Maybe you should post your math questions here. My undergrad degree is in Mathematics.

I was in the airforce at a time when there was no GI Bill. Luckily my company will reimburse some of the tuition.

Wow...I didn't know there was such a time! I thought that that compensated you a little for the rest of the headache's but then I was in during the south east asia thing and the headaches could be sizeable!

Kurt.
