1956 Triumph TR3 - $12,000
This is a very nice, very solid, mostly original, 90,000 original miles, 1956 Triumph TR3. I bought this car from the daughter of the original owner. It is truly a one family owned TR3. The car runs and drives great, and comes with its original top, tuneau, and side curtains. It also comes with it's original belted spare tire and matching wheel as well as the original tool kit, jack and manual starting crank.
The car has been repainted once in it's lifetime from it's original yellow to the white you see now. The paint job was very professional and smooth and glossy, but it is older now and has various dings, chips and imperfections. It also has a few minor dents and dings. I would call this car a nice 20 footer and an excellent driver. I love the car and am only selling to buy a classic that has room for my wife and two young boys.
This car has had the front steering and suspension completely rebuilt. It also has a new brake/clutch master cylinder and clutch slave cylinder. The rear wheel cylinders are new. It has four brand new 165/80R15 radial tires. I also recently installed new black vintage-styled seat belts both front and rear. Car also has new plugs, wires, cap, points, condenser and coil. The stock carbs work great and are well balanced and responsive. The car is rock solid with no rust at all to speak of. It does have a few very small areas where the paint has slightly bubbled. The non-synchronized original four speed was replaced with a later synchronized unit which is a big improvement. The water pump leaks some out the front seal, I have a new replacement pump that should be installed soon when I get a little time. Car can still be topped off and driven fine. All gauges work but speedo tops out at around 40 mph, not sure what is up with that. Car may have originally been an overdrive car, but switch is missing from dash.
Currently I have the front bumper and luggage rack off of the car as I preferred the cleaner lines without those two pieces. However, both are obviously included in the sale and would be easy to re-install.
I can provide additional photos and/or videos at your request. This is a rare, early TR3 in great daily driver condition and would be an excellent candidate for a full concourse restoration.
Please text during weekday hours, feel free to call after 4 pm central time or anytime on weekends.
