Would you be willing to part with your 1102B? I am looking for one to compete my concours compliance of my AH 3000 MK1.

Understood. What year is your car and car number? Is the 1102B the correct one for your car? There was a 1102 that was for early 3000 Mk1 cars and 1102A for Mk2s, I believe. Also, I have a 1102B that came from the Austin Healey factory library and was intended for Healey service people to sign out. It is identical to what was provided with the cars, but it has a Healey library label inside. It was never signed out and never used, so it is in "like new: condition. Maybe you would an exchange. I would like to have one without the label for my concours judging.

My car was built on March 30, 1960. Car No 862X. The difference between the manuals to my knowledge is as follows (anyone feel free to correct me if I'm mistaken):
- AKD 1102 is the original version of the Handbook for the 3000 MK1.
- AKD 1102A adds information on the thermo carb (used on cars produced from July 1959 - November 1959)
- AKD 1102B is the last version of the handbook for MK1s. During the transition to the MK2s (vertical grille), it was delivered with a supplement (AKD 1981) for these cars.

I believe 1102B to be the correct manual for my car, due to the fact that it was certainly after the Thermo-Carb. But am not 100% certain.

Unfortunately, also no trades. I'll definitely keep my handbook

Ok. This is what is known about the manuals.

Publication AKD 1102 First handbook for the newly introduced 3000. Intended to be issued with cars up to the introduction of the auto-choke feature. No publication date listed but would have been very early 1959. 60 pages. Publication AKD 1102A Second handbook for the 3000. Intended to be included with cars AFTER C. 2193, Includes information on the new auto-choke feature. No publication date noted but would have been approx. mid 1959. 60 pages. Publication AKD 1102 AMMENDED This addenda/errata supplement sheet was glued inside the front cover of some copies of AKD 1102A probably after installation of the auto-choke system was discontinued. Printed in red ink it gives details of different spark plugs and noted the deletion of the autochoke feature and revised tuning instructions. Single page. Publication AKD 1102B Last handbook issued for the 3000 (MKI). This handbook would be found in all cars AFTER E.29D/6394 to end of MkI production. No publication date noted but probably printed early 1960. 64 pages.

Cool. So I definitely have the correct handbook. May I ask for the source of this information? I'll let you know if I find any 1102B for sale.

Hello Reid,
I'm hunting for an original Driver's Handbook for my Mk II BN7 Center Shift car, AKD 1102D according to the concours guidelines. Looks like you have quite a collection. Do you have one you're willing to part with, or if not, know where I might find an original?
