Since today is 6 June, I'll post a photo of the Royal Marines at (I think) Normandy during D-day (below).

Note that two of them are carrying what looks like a mini-bike. It's actually a Welbike, built by Excelsior.

This was supposed to be a light, British combat bike. In truth, it wasn't that successful, but an interesting sidelight to WW II technology.
