weber ntuning saga continues

well from what I have resourced, there are several versions of the 40DCOE, mine end with 151 and read the idle screws should be between 2 1/2 to 3 turns out and mine are right there, the idle jets are a pain
F6,F12,F9,F8,F11,F13,F2,F4,F5,F7,F1,F3 are the desiginations from rich to lean
the F number denotes the air bleed hole size, and then the fuel hole sizes can go from 0.3mm up to 1.70 mm, in 0.05 mm steps so getting these right can be a real pain. If you are trying to jet webers, best to buy a set of small drill bits from mcmaster carr and drill them out in .05 mm steps, so you dont have to keep ordering jets, thats what I did, and once you get it right you can order the correct jet, if you want the numbers on the jets to match whats in the carb. or do as I did and just make notes

yes lots of notes, but if you spent as much time as I have jetting Webers, it becomes second nature and knowing what to change out. now the emulsion tubes are a different animal, they tell you in the book what each one will do. the main ones used for TR6 are F15 and F16 but then I have F2 and F11's I experimented with. The weber book shows the details and hold locations, all they do is emulsify the gas, but at different rpm's

somewhat black magic

well the new pertronix coil is installed, and I still have a hesistation and miss at 3500 so now I am convenced its carb related, so me thinks its in the accelerator jets. so I will swap them out for larger ones and see what happens

Just a simple rule about Webers:

You can adjust them for low revs or you can adjust them for high revs.
You can't do both.

Cheers

seems that no matter what I do the miss is still there however as seen in my other thread, I have electrical issues to fix first. also I have been drilling out the jets in .05 mm increments and as a result I might have gotten a piece of brass shaving in a orifice so when I get the wiring fixed I will probably take each carb apart and clean them out, check float height and butterfly clearance for closure
