Here ya go! All you ever wanted to know about the hard to get at TR6 heater case and what really lurks inside the beast. I included pictures of all of the now NLA parts and the proof of how I actually got lucky for a change on ebay.

Good pics, Paul. Actually, the heaters were all originally screwed together with those little-bitty sheet metal screws. If you found one that has rivets, it has been overhauled. I pop-riveted mine back together, primarily because I used non-traditional foam padding inside and the whole thing ended up rather tight to re-assemble. Hence, rivets were stronger for me.

Looks just like the one I pulled out of my TR4A.
Had a huge mouse nest sitting on top of the fan; they had 18 yrs to construct it !
I figured the foam was to seal the housing where it fits into the cowl vent. Mine was screwed together; I had to use a cut off wheel to remove all the rusted ones.
Put it back togethet w/ S/S screws..

Thanks, Bill. I think that you know I was in the business for 25 years, so reading service manuals was a way of life and writing procedures for things not in manuals was my job, when I got to management levels, so here we are.

I will post the results of the pressure testing and I'm hoping the rad shop will allow me to take pictures of the process. Some of the things those of us who have been around for awhile take for granted need to be shown or explained to the next generation behind us.

I plan to clean this one up and paint if needed, but I don't think that it will need much. I want to stop at the local hobby shop and get some foam with tape on one side to seal the case as well as to insulate the core. What's there will probably get ruined during the testing process.

I did order the new bulkhead seals and the mounting kits from TRF. I'll post what actually comes with the kits as I reassemble the case.

Now you have me really thinking about the other case that I have. I wonder if it's better inside than this one? This weekend will be drill out rivet time.
